Our situation was unusual in that it was mainly friends  involved with the organisation, as family live at a distance and abroad. Also that it involved a burial almost an hour away. The support and advice that all the team at Brunel gave me during such a difficult time was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble, no rush on making decisions and lots of helpful advice. I was always kept updated on every step, especially with dealing with the coroners, without the teams help im not sure i would off known what I was doing. Louise was my rock during this time and was always available, however small my questions were, she went above and beyond to assist me with the arrangements. This process depends on multiple factors, but can be coordinated by the team at Brunel Funeral Directors if this is something you are looking for.

Can unexpected circumstances affect an attended funeral?

At Brunel Funeral Directors, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can happen. Be it traffic, bad weather, or even late guests, we’ve experienced it all in our 20 years of assisting families say goodbye to their loved ones.

In such instances, we’ll handle all eventualities sensitively and with professionalism, to ensure the attended funeral can go ahead as expected, by:

Liaising and coordinating with the venue, celebrant, and transport providers to ensure timing can be adapted.
Welcoming and guiding late guests in discreetly to minimise disruption.
Planning alternate cortege routes – in advance or on the day – to ensure the procession continues uninterrupted.
Arranging contingency plans if extreme weather is forecast.

Who organises parking, traffic control, or the procession route?

When you choose Brunel Funeral Directors for your loved one, part of our role is to coordinate the parties that handle logistical details, including:

The transport provider – who takes care of the vehicles, the cortege route, and selects staff to drive the cars.
The venue – may have specific rules about parking that guests need to adhere to.
The local authority or council – which can close roads or routes if needed.
Guests – who might need information before they arrive to ensure it all runs smoothly.

Do you offer unattended funerals and direct cremation?

If an attended funeral service is not your loved one’s preference, you can opt for unattended funeral services that are more in line with their wishes.

An unattended cremation or unattended funeral involves a respectful cremation or burial that is more private and allows for a bespoke gathering or celebration of life, however your loved one preferred, at a later date.

Our Brunel Service is designed to assist with funeral costs. This attended service takes place at a crematorium of your choice, typically scheduled for 10 am or earlier. It is generally a straightforward ceremony, which can be either religious or non-religious. You have the option to add personal touches, ensuring a fitting tribute for your loved one.

The cost above is a fully inclusive price and includes everything that you will need for a simple funeral

You do have the option to upgrade and add on items to suit your requirements, but these items will be subject to a further cost.

Bringing your loved one into care (within a 15-mile radius*)
Completion of all arrangements made on your behalf.
Care Support and Guidance throughout the funeral.
Care of the deceased in climate-controlled facilities.
Foiled Elm/Oak Cremation Coffin fully lined.
Choice of dressing in their own clothes or a gown.
Visiting in the Chapel of Rest, during office hours**
Minister or Celebrant.
Cortege Route, if required.
Use of our hearse on the day of the funeral.
Funeral Director and 4 bearers.

Traditional Service

From £4105

A traditional service is tailored to your requirements and your loved one’s wishes. You can choose a church service followed by cremation or burial, or simply attend the crematorium. The service can be scheduled at any time from 10:30 am to suit you and your family. We can provide a celebrant or minister who will meet with you to discuss the elements you’d like to include in the service. You may select the cortege route, type of coffin, flowers, orders of service, and other options. We will guide you through these choices to create a unique and memorable service.

We will sit with you, listen and guide you through the many choices and options. We will give you as much time as you need, either in person, over the phone or by email, and we keep in regular contact with you throughout our service.
