COVID-19 Information

Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic

This is a very concerning time for everyone right now. We want to reassure you that we are continuing to take the greatest care of our families and arrange funerals in the best possible way. We are keeping up to date with the latest government guidance on funerals and will keep our families informed of any changes.

If someone has passed away at home.

Please contact us at any time, we still cover a 24hr service. We will ask you for the normal information, but we will now also include asking if you know if the deceased or anyone in the property has tested positive for coronavirus. When we arrive, our men will be wearing PPE as a standard precaution, in the event that someone could be asymptomatic. We ask that you follow social distancing whilst our staff are with you.

Arranging the funeral

Where possible we are trying to keep you safe as well as our staff. We will arrange funerals over the phone wherever possible, to minimise contact. Once done we will send the funeral director to your home to hand you the paperwork that has been completed, it will be clearly labelled for you to sign. It is nice for you to meet the funeral director so you know who will be looking after you on the day of the funeral.

If you come to the funeral home to sign the paperwork then you will be asked to wear a mask and sanitise your hands.

All paperwork will be laid out ready for you visit and clearly marked for signing.

  • There are gloves if you wish, masks and automatic hand sanitiser are available in reception.
  • No more than 2 clients may visit the home at any time.
  • We regularly clean all surfaces in the funeral home and use a sanitising fogging machine to sanitise the air.

Note:

During this lockdown we are not offering limousines on funerals. We will bring the hearse to an address should family want to follow to the crematorium.
If the deceased has been tested positive for COVID-19 then due to the airborne nature of the virus we cannot permit visiting in the chapel.
We also cannot take fingerprints for jewellery but you do have the option of ashes into glass keepsakes.

We apologise for any additional stress this may cause but we have a duty of care to you our client and also to the health and safety of our staff.

Funeral Directors Hengrove

When someone you love dies, it can be very difficult to comprehend – especially if the death was sudden. But here at Brunel Funeral Directors, we understand that everyone grieves in their own time, and seeking advice from funeral directors in Hengrove (or close by) can be comforting.

We might be based in Westbury on Trym, but our bright and welcoming funeral home is just a short 15-minute drive from Hengrove, and it’s here that we’ve been supporting bereaved families in our local community for more than 45 years.

If you’d like to know more about the services we provide, call 0117 374 2002 or fill out the enquiry form.

What we do

Though we’re not funeral directors in Hengrove, we are here to help you through this one step at a time, and refuse to rush our families.

We will provide you with everything you need to give your loved one the send-off they deserve. And even after the funeral has taken place, our team can offer bereavement support and compassion for as long as you need.

Funeral arrangements

Organising a funeral isn’t the easiest thing to do when you’re mourning the loss of a loved one. It’s a time to celebrate their life so, naturally, you want to get everything just right. And our funeral directors near Hengrove can help to ease the burden at this sad time.

We offer a number of funeral services and packages to accommodate you and your family’s needs, as well as the deceased’s wishes, and work hard to keep our prices low and our standards high. These include:

  • The Brunel Cremation – this is one of our most popular funeral packages and includes everything from the conveyancing of the deceased into our care, preparation of the body for the service and viewings, a simple 20-minute service delivered with care and compassion, and the provision of a hearse and bearers.

  • Direct Cremation – if the descendant only wanted a simple dignified send-off, our direct cremation with no minister, attendees, or ceremony is ideal. On the day of the cremation, only the funeral director and pallbearers will be present, meaning you can celebrate the life of your loved one at a later day, however you see fit.

  • The Bespoke Service – the perfect package for a truly personalised service that reflects the deceased’s requests. The price can vary depending on the individual items you select (i.e. specialist hearses, coffins, flowers, music, and memorabilia) but we provide transparent fees, offer a tailored quote, and discuss alternative options to make sure you’re 100% satisfied.

Why not come and visit us at our peaceful funeral home where we can talk you through the different options available and make the arrangements for the funeral over a nice cup of tea or coffee?

Other funeral services

Many people assume that funeral directors in Hengrove take care of the funeral arrangements only – but that’s not the case here at Brunel Funeral Directors.

Although we will help you to organise the details for the funeral, and advise you on the most suitable packages for your budget and the deceased’s wishes, we offer a plethora of additional services, including:

  • Floral tributes – be it a single flower, small posy or wreath, large bouquet, or bespoke letter display
  • Scatter tubes and caskets
  • Jewellery and memorabilia
  • Masonry service (including a selection of stones and font styles)

We are here to assist you in giving your loved one the best possible send-off – making it a truly memorable day for you and the rest of your family.

Funeral plans

Though it’s not something all funeral directors in Hengrove offer, we provide pre-paid funeral plans from Golden Leaves.

Taking out a funeral plan allows you to secure your family’s future – saving them the stress, heartache, and financial burden of organising your funeral once you’ve passed.

Planning your own funeral gives you the option to choose what type of service you want (e.g. a traditional ceremony at church or cremation service at the crematorium), which hymns or music you want to be played, and the type of flowers you want.

But more importantly, a funeral plan will provide you with the peace of mind that you have the costs covered. There are several ways to pay depending on your financial situation. For instance, you could pay in one lump sum or monthly instalments, spreading the cost over a fixed term.

For more information about the payment options available, speak with our funeral directors near Hengrove.
